1968 Chevron B8 Fb

1968 CHEVRON B8 coming to auction

A very rare treat coming to auction.

The Chevron B8, introduced in 1968, was a highly successful Group 4 sports car, known for its speed, agility, and forgiving handling. It was originally designed to house a 2.0L BMW engine but was also fitted with Ford FVA, FVC, and Lotus-Climax powerplants. With only 44 original cars completed, the B8 became a sought-after racer, dominating circuits across Europe. It was homologated based on a claimed production of 50 units, with rebuilds often recorded as new cars, a common practice in limited-production racing.

Chassis DBE-54 was delivered new to British racer Peter Crossley in March 1968, uniquely fitted with a 2.0L Coventry-Climax engine. It enjoyed early success in UK club racing before competing extensively in Europe. The car changed hands multiple times, achieving victories with various owners in historic racing. Today, DBE-54 remains in excellent race-ready condition, featuring a fresh Lester Owen-built BMW engine, restored suspension and brakes, and extensive period documentation, making it one of the most original B8s in existence.
