For the covered E350 CDI W212/S212 engines, MANN lists the C 29 035-2 two-piece air-filter pack and HU 821 x oil filter. Cabin options include CUK 29 005 and the explicitly right-hand-drive FP 29 005/1. Fuel filters split by application: the 231 hp OM642.850 and 265 hp OM642.852/858 do not share a single catalogue entry.
Coverage: E350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY W212 saloon / S212 estate, focusing on the 170 kW / 231 hp OM642.850 and 195 kW / 265 hp OM642.852/858 catalogue applications. Later E350 BlueTEC models, petrol E350s and C207/A207 coupés/cabriolets need their own application checks.
E350 CDI filter references at a glance
| Item | Manufacturer reference | Selection point |
|---|---|---|
| Engine air filters | MANN C 29 035-2 | Service pack containing C 29 043 and C 29 044; two included products. |
| Engine oil filter | MANN HU 821 x | Listed for both covered outputs. Check the full reference and seals supplied. |
| Cabin, activated carbon | MANN CUK 29 005 | Listed for both covered W/S212 applications. |
| Cabin, FreciousPlus | MANN FP 29 005/1 | Explicitly right-hand drive; retain the /1 suffix. |
| Fuel, 231 hp OM642.850 | WK 820/2 x; WK 8016 x water-sensor branch | Match the existing equipment and supplier application. |
| Fuel, 265 hp OM642.852/858 | WK 820/14 | Listed for this output/engine branch. |
These are manufacturer catalogue references. Decide which replacements are due from the service information and dated maintenance records; a filter bundle is not a complete service schedule.
Air filters: buy the complete C 29 035-2 pack
MANN identifies C 29 035-2 as a service pack containing C 29 043 plus C 29 044, with two included products. That is a documented pack description, rather than a quantity guessed from the suffix.
When comparing prices, distinguish that pack from a listing for just one constituent filter. Check the complete reference and supplied contents. The 231 hp and 265 hp CDI rows both name this pack; a filter suggested for the four-cylinder E220 CDI is a different application.
Oil filter: HU 821 x
MANN lists HU 821 x for OM642.850 at 170 kW and OM642.852/858 at 195 kW. Check that the listing identifies the full reference and the sealing components included. The separate E350 CDI engine-oil guide covers the handbook’s 8.0-litre change reference and a named approved oil.

Cabin filters: CUK 29 005 or FP 29 005/1?
MANN lists CUK 29 005 as an activated-carbon cabin filter for both covered CDI applications. FP 29 005/1 is its FreciousPlus biofunctional entry explicitly marked for right-hand drive. Compare the correct application and the delivered price:
Search Amazon for MANN CUK 29 005 cabin filters Search Amazon for MANN FP 29 005/1 cabin filtersThe full catalogue also contains FP 29 005 without the /1. Do not shorten the part number or assume it is the same product. For an imported left-hand-drive car, use the matching steering-side catalogue entry.
A cabin filter cleans ventilation air; it is a different purchase from the engine’s two-piece air-filter pack. Check the previous invoice so that similarly named “air filters” are not confused when planning the job.
Fuel filters: 231 hp versus 265 hp
For the 231 hp OM642.850, the catalogue shows WK 820/2 x and a separate WK 8016 x with water-sensor connection branch. The 265 hp OM642.852/858 row instead lists WK 820/14.
A 2010 registration can sit around the catalogue’s overlapping changeover dates, so establish the engine/output and actual equipment. Compare the fitted/OE reference and sensor connections with a supplier’s application check. The three numbers are not interchangeable choices based solely on the E350 badge.
Ask a workshop quote to identify the fuel-filter reference and whether the charge includes the required fittings and labour. A cheap kit with the wrong fuel filter is less useful than the correct parts bought separately. Keep a dated record of the replacement.
Before ordering a service bundle
- Identify W212 saloon or S212 estate and the CDI engine/output.
- Check the complete two-piece air-filter pack contents.
- Match HU 821 x and the seals supplied.
- Keep the cabin-filter suffix and steering-side application.
- Resolve the fuel-filter and sensor branch before buying.
- Check oil approval and enough oil if the bundle includes it.
The E350 CDI servicing guide brings the parts and quotation decisions together. E220 CDI owners should use the separate four-cylinder filter guide.
