The Ford Sierra XR4i was a bold and distinctive performance coupe, launched in 1983 as the first true hot version of the Sierra. Powered by a 2.8-litre Cologne V6 engine producing 150 bhp, it delivered strong performance, with a 0-60 mph time of around 7.8 seconds. Its rear-wheel-drive setup, combined with unique twin rear spoilers and wide arches, made it stand out both visually and dynamically. Though later overshadowed by the RS Cosworth, the XR4i remains a rare and sought-after classic, embodying Ford’s 1980s performance heritage.
This XR4i is a little bit different. For sale on eBay at the time of writing, it’s been retrofitted with the BOA 2.9 Cosworth engine.
